CAPS Management Team

Robert P. Ferguson CBCP, Director of Technology Services & Operations
Mr. Ferguson brings his robust international experience in technology and the enterprise, especially in data and communications services, systems testing, business continuity and disaster recovery to his position. Prior to joining CAPS in 2000, Mr. Ferguson was the Manager of Data Services for global manufacturing firm. There he was entrusted with departmental responsibilities that included provisioning and maintaining system service and availability for HP/UX, IBM/AIX, and MS/Windows– based systems for international clients. His additional duties included the development of a corporate Disaster Recovery Plan and disaster recovery testing. Mr. Ferguson implemented and maintained national/international voice, data, and video networks and the frame relay LAN/WAN. Since becoming a member of the CAPS team, Mr. Ferguson completed all the required business continuity planning coursework and became a Certified Business Continuity Planner (CBCP). Additionally, he manages Client Testing Programs and develops Training and Awareness Programs after the plan is developed. At CAPS Mr. Ferguson’s areas of responsibility include Systems & Network Operations and Management to ensure that all systems and networks, which support our clients’ recovery strategies, maintain the highest availability levels. In addition, he has the responsibilities for Power Infrastructure and Facilities management, maintaining secure Level-3 Alternate Sites.

Robert Urion, General Manager

Mr. Urion brings his extensive experience in business continuity, disaster recovery, infrastructure management and government emergency matters to his position. He is a highly respected member of the disaster recovery, business continuity and homeland security community on a statewide and federal level. Since CAPS conception in 1995, Mr. Urion has been the Site Manager of CAPS facilities. He conducts client testing and co-manages the installation and maintenance of the two Connecticut sites’ infrastructure as well as the offices at CAPS HQ. Mr. Urion is a former board member of the Connecticut Disaster Recovery Information and Exchange (CDRIEX). On the Federal level, he was also selected to be a member of FEMA’s Business Continuity Advisory Board. Furthermore, he is a sought after speaker for professional associations. Prior to joining CAPS in 1995, Mr. Urion was a Contingency Planner for Chase Manhattan Bank, now part of
JP Morgan Chase, of Connecticut for many years.
